Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) has served the community since 1972 as the only sexual violence resource center serving Boulder County, Colorado.
Together we can make things better.
The recent attack on the United States Capitol was harrowing, and a sharp reminder of how violence is born from, and begets, hatred and social fragmentation. We recognize that to live in a world free from sexual violence, we need to continually work on our daily interactions with each other.
At Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA), we strive to have our language and actions come from a place of non-violence and stay conscious of not marginalizing or demonizing others. We strive to use clear, direct, and respectful communication with each other as we navigate conflicts. We work to demonstrate a willingness and commitment to compassionately challenge each other to better ourselves and advance our mission.
MESA hopes that this commitment to non-violence at the interpersonal level has a ripple effect. Our intention is to promote a culture of non-violence at the interpersonal and community levels, with the hopes of creating a new narrative, a new direction for our country.
We invite you to join us in our mission: Join our newsletter, donate, volunteer – together we can make things better.
In Peace,
The MESA Staff
