Women’s Circles at MESA

Women’s Circle at MESA is a monthly community gathering for adult women ages 18 and older who are looking for connection, reflection, and meaningful conversation. Each month explores a different theme and offers opportunities to gather with other women, share ideas and experiences, and spend an evening in community.
Why Women’s Circles?
Women’s Circle creates space for women to come together in community, learn from one another, and talk about the experiences and issues that shape our lives. It is an opportunity to slow down, step away from screens and daily responsibilities, and spend time in meaningful conversation with other women.
We believe there is value in simply being together, sharing perspectives, listening, reflecting, and remembering that we do not have to navigate everything alone. Each gathering offers a chance to connect, support one another, and explore topics that are relevant to women’s lives.
At MESA, we also recognize that experiences such as sexual violence and other forms of trauma can sometimes leave people feeling isolated or disconnected from others. With more than 50 years of supporting survivors, MESA is committed to creating welcoming, trauma-informed spaces where women can connect without pressure to disclose or share more than they choose. Women who have experienced sexual violence, relationship or domestic violence, childhood abuse, harassment, or other trauma are warmly welcome at Women’s Circle.
What to Expect
Each Women’s Circle focuses on a unique theme centered on women’s lives and experiences and the ways we understand our past, engage with our present, and imagine our future.
Past themes have included:
- The Version of Yourself You Most Enjoy Being
- The Women Who Came Before Us
- The Mental Load and the Second Shift
- The Chapters of Our Lives
- The Practice of Thanks
- Making Space for Joy
Each evening may include gentle activities such as journaling and personal reflection, creative exercises, small- and large-group conversations, and a closing ritual. The activities are designed to help spark meaningful conversations while also giving women opportunities to hear different perspectives and learn from one another.
Women’s Circle is a welcoming, trauma-informed space grounded in respect, choice, and connection. Participation is always optional. You are welcome to share, participate in the activities, or simply listen and take in the experience.
This is not therapy or a sexual assault support group. It is a community gathering where women can connect with one another, exchange perspectives, and spend meaningful time together.
