Advocacy Services

Medical Support

MESA advocates provide information about medical care and meet survivors at the hospital for support and advocacy.

An advocate can support you to get a forensic examination done by an expertly trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) at the hospital. MESA advocates provide support at the following hospitals:

  • Boulder Community Health Hospital (map)
  • UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital (map)

Legal System Support

MESA advocates provide information about the legal process, referrals to seek legal advice and information, as well as offer support in making informed decisions about your legal rights. You can also request a MESA advocate to accompany you to file a police report.

Advocates always respect survivor’s decisions about whether or not to report to law enforcement and any decision to stop participating in the legal process at any point.

What MESA Does Not Offer

While MESA does not offer the following services, we may be able to provide referrals to agencies who do:

  • shelter
