MESA’s Hotline Advocates provide support for people that call and text our hotline, accompany survivors to the hospital for medical attention, and to the police department to file a report. 40-hour training provided.
Safe Bars Volunteer
Safe Bars, a bystander intervention program, is dedicated to training bar, restaurant, and club staff to recognize and respond to sexual harassment and assault – and create a safer, more welcoming space for staff and guests.
Safe Bars volunteers will assist with community outreach by identifying bars, restaurants, and clubs to train, and facilitate workshops on bystander intervention to hospitality and nightlife staff.
Community Educator & Men Standing Up (MSU) Volunteer
Community Educators & MSU Volunteers present to middle school, high school, college students, and community members on topics of bystander intervention, healthy masculinity, consent, rape culture, and healthy boundaries.
The vision of the Community Educator program is to end sexual violence in Boulder County by examining societal norms, creating transformative spaces, and healing root causes of our culture of oppresion.
The Development Committee supports the Development Director in creating and executing MESA’s Development Plan. The plan incorporates various strategies for increasing revenue that include private foundation grant applications, business sponsorships, and increasing ticket sales for MESA’s two annual fundraising events.
Committee members are passionate about MESA’s mission and committed to raising awareness about MESA’s work to support survivors and end sexual violence. The Committee plays a strong role in identifying, cultivating, and approaching donors with the goal of creating sustainable monthly donors.
