What is the Canine Classic?
A dog-friendly fun run and walk for participants of all ages. A canine companion is welcomed but not required. The event includes an expo with music, contests, food, beer, and fun activities, all to raise money for a great cause.
Why support the Canine Classic?
This is a unique event that helps support a cause that is difficult to talk about. It provides a fun and light-hearted atmosphere that brings together the community to raise awareness during Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April.
Who is MESA?
Since 1972, Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) has helped thousands of survivors as the only sexual violence crisis center in Boulder and Broomfield counties. In 2022, MESA:
- Advocated for 296 survivors through criminal justice proceedings and at hospitals for Sexual Assault Nurse Examinations (SANEs)
- Served 2,880 survivors through the 24-hour hotline and text line
- Trained 7,000 Boulder County residents in prevention education in schools and in the community
