Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA) is a social justice, victim advocacy team that serves sexual assault survivors by providing information about legal support, medical care, counseling referrals, and other community resources. MESA offers a 24-hour hotline, as well as in-person advocacy during criminal justice proceedings and at the hospital during forensic evidence collection with Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs). MESA’s 24-hour hotline number is 303-443-7300. The administrative office number is 303-443-0400.
Additionally, MESA provides prevention education in the community through programs such as Men Standing Up (MSU) and Peers Building Justice (PBJ), both aimed at empowering participants to lead in the transformation of our current culture, which normalizes and encourages sexual violence. The goal of MESA’s prevention education is to prevent sexual assaults from occurring by creating a culture based on consent, safety and respect.
MESA has served the community since 1972 as the only rape crisis center serving Boulder and Broomfield Counties, Colorado. We provide support and services to ALL survivors of sexual assault and do not discriminate against any person based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, education, geographic location, age, ability, language, national origin, culture, immigration status, politics, profession, religious beliefs and/or spirituality.
